Forestry Mulching and Land Clearing in West Fork, AR
Fayetteville Mulching clears brush, mulches wooded acreage, cuts trails and access lanes, opens fence lines, and grinds stumps in West Fork, Arkansas. We are licensed and insured in the state. We work the White River valley and the hill ground on both sides of it.
West Fork is the door into the Bostons. North of town the valley is broad and the farms sit on the flat. South of town the hollows narrow, the sides steepen, and the ridge tops carry oak and hickory with shortleaf pine on the warm south facing sandstone. That is two different clearing problems inside one town, and the machine has to change to match them.
Down in the bottom the limit is water. River ground stays wet long after a rain, and a rut cut into soft bottom soil is still there next spring. An ASV Posi-Track undercarriage puts a fraction of the ground pressure under the machine that a tire does, which is how it crosses a soft draw and leaves a mark instead of a trench. We still stop when the ground is saturated.
Up on the sides the limit is grade. Tracked carriers hold hillsides that no wheeled machine will attempt, and a Prinoth Raptor is built for exactly that ground. There is still a slope where any machine comes off the hill. The operator walks the ground before he quotes it, and he tells you where the line is on your place.
Steep ground is also where leaving the roots matters most. Mulching cuts at grade and the root network stays in the dirt holding the hill. A blade takes the roots, the topsoil, and the hillside with them.
